Alexandre Lagoya is recognized as one of the best French guitarists of the 20th century. His style of clarity, elegance and virtuosity has brought an important stone in the history of guitar performance. His musicality is closely linked to that of Ida Presti, an incomparable guitar prodigy, with whom he formed an impressive duo with an international reputation. Indeed, the two guitar giants have left precious recordings for both labels, testifying to the incredible diversity and richness of the repertoire covered. They traveled through the Renaissance (Mudarra, Dowland), the Baroque (Bach, Scarlatti, Handel, Marcello, Vivaldi), Classicism (Diabelli, Sor), Romanticism (Schubert, Tarrega), the 19th century (Albéniz, Granados) and the 20th century (Moreno Torroba, Villa-Lobos, Rodrigo), enriching the classical guitar repertoire with numerous transcriptions and commissions from contemporary composers, as well as their own compositions.
